Simmons Home Design is a family-owned, owner-operated company specializing in custom aluminum pool screen enclosures, patio covers, pergolas, screened rooms, and outdoor living structures for Brazoria County and the Greater Houston / Texas Gulf Coast area.
Founded in 2011 by Steven "Wayne" Simmons and his wife Rachel, the company was built around a simple promise: do the work yourself, do it right the first time, and stand behind it for the long haul.
Wayne has been working in this specialized niche industry since 1998. Over nearly three decades, he has earned a reputation for precise workmanship, honest pricing, and outdoor structures that are engineered to handle Gulf Coast wind, weather, and everyday use with exceptional durability.
Our Story
After years of building enclosures and patio structures for other companies, Wayne saw a troubling gap between what homeowners were promised and what was actually delivered. Too many projects were farmed out to subcontractors, overbuilt in the wrong places, underbuilt where it mattered, or pushed with aggressive sales tactics.
Wayne enters the specialized aluminum construction and enclosure industry, beginning his journey of mastering the craft.
Wayne and Rachel launch Simmons Home Design with a revolutionary approach: the owner stays on-site, quality comes first, and customers are treated with respect—not sales pressure.

Wayne offers a two-year labor warranty on his work as a baseline. If you feel you need additional peace of mind, just ask—he is open to discussing extended coverage. In practice, his projects are built to last, and return trips for repairs are extremely rare. Most call-backs are for minor adjustments, not structural failures.

Wayne has been in this specialized aluminum construction and enclosure industry since 1998—giving him over 27 years of hands-on experience. He is the person who will visit your home, design your project with precision, and personally oversee the build from the first measurement to the final inspection.
He genuinely prefers working on-site with his crew rather than sitting behind a desk. His perfectionism shows up in the details—fastener spacing, structural connections, clean lines, and the way each project ties into your home so it looks like it has always been there. Wayne's commitment to quality is uncompromising.
Rachel Simmons
Co-Owner & Operations / Marketing
Rachel is Wayne's wife, business partner, and co-founder. She keeps the business organized behind the scenes—managing operations, supporting client communication, and overseeing marketing efforts that accurately represent what Simmons Home Design delivers.
Because she has been on the job site and understands the build process firsthand, she knows the materials, terminology, and challenges inside and out. That experience allows her to translate field knowledge into clear, accurate information online—ensuring homeowners know exactly what to expect when they choose Simmons Home Design.
